Aegean Regatta 2012 Schedule

PRESS RELEASE

The Aegean Regatta 2012 race sets sail from Mytilene, Lesvos on August 18 and ends at Syros on 24 August following a 140-mile route with stops at Oinousses, Chios and Volissos, Chios.

The detailed program:

Saturday 18/08/2012

Skippers' Meeting and Opening Ceremony (Mytilene Port).

Synday 19/08/2012

1rst Offshore Race from Mytilene to Oinousses.

Monday 20/08/2012

Rest day and Prize Giving Ceremony for the 1rst Race.

Tuesday 21/08/2012

2nd Offshore Race from Oinousses to Volissos.

Wednesday 22/08/2012

Rest day or Inshore Race. Prize Giving Ceremony for the 2nd Race.

Thursday 23/08/2012

3rd Offshore Race from Vilissos to Syros.

Gentlemen,

First of all we would like to apologise for taking so long to send this email.

Bob and I would like to thank you and the organizing team for a wonderful Aegean Regatta. The crew on Kinabalu enjoyed it thoroughly and Saskia, our foredeck lady, voted it "the best regatta yet".....and she's done many regattas, in Asia, Europe and the Caribbean!! Despite not speaking a word of Greek, we still managed to meet lots of people and make new friends.

We were thrilled of course to have done so well in the ORC Club Class and we have the cup securely positioned on board Kinabalu.

After the regatta we made our way up to Lesvos, where our friends very proudly showed us their island.

We will certainly recommend the Aegean Regatta to all our contacts and wish you well for future regattas.
